Hollywood is making strides with "BEN-HUR"
to successfully reach both faith-driven and secular audiences alike in this summer's tent-pole remake of the
1959 Academy Award-winning classic

Faith Driven Consumer™ (FDC)—representing 41 million Americans who spend $2 trillion annually, has earned wide recognition both for its corporate rating system, and also for its Faith-Friendly Film Review entertainment rating system. FDC serves as a key resource for audiences and entertainment industry leaders alike, measuring the faith-compatibility of entertainment offerings and predicting how they will resonate.

Coming to theaters nationwide August 19, "BEN-HUR"—the latest film by Mark Burnett and Roma Downey's Lightworkers Media in conjunction with Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer and Paramount Pictures—has been awarded 4 out of 5 stars by Faith Driven Consumer, meaning the film is highly likely to resonate with the Faith Driven Consumer audience.

"BEN-HUR" tells the epic story of Judah Ben-Hur, a Jewish prince who is falsely accused of treason by his adopted brother, Messala, an officer in the Roman army.

After surviving years in slavery, Judah seeks revenge in a chariot race, but is changed after a series of redemptive encounters with Jesus.
Chris Stone, Founder of Faith Driven Consumer and Certified Brand Strategist, has issued the following statement:
"Unlike its mega-budget Hollywood predecessors NOAH and EXODUS: GODS AND KINGS—both of which underperformed at the box office and clearly did not resonate with faith-driven moviegoers—BEN-HUR offers a payoff to both faith-driven and secular audiences alike. Its high production values, historical consistency and action-driven storyline show that Hollywood is taking the steps necessary to deliver entertainment products that successfully balance the needs and expectations of diverse market segments—offering each its own entertainment reward. BEN-HUR is the movie that Faith Driven Consumers have been waiting for—a movie that Hollywood needed to make both for itself and the faith-driven audience."
Faith Driven Consumer's Faith-Friendly Film Reviews are based on five core criteria: Overall Faith and/or Biblical Relevance; Faith-compatible Depiction of Characters and Character Relationships; Faith-compatible Depiction of Situations, Family Viewing Suitability; and Entertainment Value.
