BANDA EL RECODO RETURNS TO #1 WITH A
SESAC LATINA SONG

"Vas A Llorar Por Mí," an original composition written by
Luciano Luna and Miguel Angel Romero

The successful collaboration of Mexican singer-songwriters Luciano Luna and Miguel Ángel Romero has done it again. They're the composers of the latest smash hit by the legendary Banda El Recodo de Don Cruz Lizárraga, the passionate ranchera titled "Vas A Llorar Por Mí" (You're Going to Cry For Me). It's the first single from their new album Haciendo Historia (Making History).

"Vas A Llorar Por Mí" has trekked all the way to #1 on Billboard's Regional Mexican Airplay chart for the week of November 23-29, 2013, as measured by number of plays and total audience reached at U.S. Latin radio.

The previous #1 on this chart, "Ni Que Estuvieras Tan Buena" (You Weren't That Good), performed by Calibre 50, is also represented by SESAC Latina for its public performing rights.

Luciano Luna and Miguel Ángel Romero had previously collaborated on Banda El Recodo's chart-topping ballad "Dime Que Me Quieres" (Tell Me That You Love Me), which in 2011 received awards from SESAC Latina for Song of the Year, and from the Premios Billboard for Regional Mexican Airplay.

Luciano was also named by Billboard this year as the top Latin composer during the first half of 2013, and in October received an award at Monitor Latino's Mexico City convention for U.S.Regional Mexican Songwriter of the Year.

Discussing his creative process, Luciano Luna notes that his songs "come from experiences and true stories. The good and the bad things that have happened to us. That's the main requirement. My slogan is: 'I write what I've lived and if I haven't lived it, I don't write about it.' That's what wins people over. The content of the song is what makes it work. Because people identify with experiences. And I put them into my songs."
