"I Don't Wanna Be In Love" is the follow up single to Dark Waves' debut hit single, "The Heartbeat The Soul,"which gained attention from critics and fans alike after garnering almost 2 Million streams on Spotify following the release of Dark Waves' self-titled inaugural EP release on September 30th, 2014.
On the inspiration behind the new song, Long reveals, "I wrote this song [I Don't Wanna Be In Love] toward the end of a relationship. I didn't realize how weighed down I felt until after it ended, but I knew something wasn't right. It made me sad to feel disconnected from someone that I once felt so close to." He continues, "The song is basically me taking a look at my situation and being honest with myself about how I felt."
Both "The Heartbeat The Soul" and "I Don't Wanna Be In Love" will be included on Dark Waves' forthcoming full-length debut, set for a 2015 release. The Dark Waves EP is currently available on iTunes here: bit.ly/1FTyOa8.
