The season of "Masters of Illusion" will end on Oct. 2 with a two-hour finale which will include a performance by Vixen DeVille.
DeVille has worked on her magic act and tops the stage to dazzle audiences.
It was much different for DeVille as she was now able to take her act to a new level.
"Being able to perform my acts to the absolute fullest, have the stage space to use, the hair and make-up team, the stage hands was something I looked forward to," DeVille said. "I was able to fully concentrate on and perform the act itself and nothing else, usually I'm performing in cramped spaces."
DeVille performs on smaller stages, smaller venues and usually has to worry about setting everything up herself.
Having to worry about multiple aspects of the performance while trying to get focused to put on the best show possible is difficult, but for "Masters of Illusion" she had a crew to help her set up for a better show and a bigger space to work in.
"Even when I'm doing a large scale live show like 'MYTH' I still dont have the time to focus fully on a solo act, since I'm concentrating on hosting and then usually have a quick change between acts. So hair, makeup and costume feels very slap dash and rushed," DeVille said.
DeVille said she immediately felt like part of the crew on the show and was able to work with talent that she had previously work with throughout her career.
DeVille had included many talented individual from Nathaan Phan, who she has been working with at various events in Los Angeles over the last couple of years, to Barry and Stuart who had performed at a show she hosted in London in 2007.
DeVille felt like the experience was incredible, but had some discomfort with taped rehearsals.
"It would have been fine if it had been a rehearsal, but for one of my segments they decided that the taped rehearsal take was fine to go with, and so we wouldn’t film that segment with the live studio audience," DeVille said. "It was the first time I'd walked that stage space and got to grips with the target audience and vibe of the show and how that would affect my usual presentation."
DeVille said she came off feeling like it wasn't her best performance because she was preparing herself mentally for the taped performance, which never happened.
She didn't get the chance to do that segment with an audience, just stand-ins.
"Luckily the second segment was filmed live with a studio audience so we’ll see what the outcome is," DeVille said. "You never know how they are going to edit what you performed, so the whole episode will be a surprise for me to watch either way."
DeVille eagerly watched week after week to see her performance, but had no idea she would be part of the season finale.
She was not notified of her air date until a week before it would air.
"It’s just exiting to finally be able to see the episode," DiVille said.
"Masters of Illusion's" two-hour season finale airs Oct. 2 at 8:00 p.m. PST hosted by Dean Cain and will feature 14 professional magicians.
DeVille jokingly said, "Obviously they were saving the best for last."
