"El Sepulcro de Zapata" is a poignant story of a veteran of the Mexican Revolution standing at the graveside of General Emiliano Zapata where he decries the plight of Mexico's poor and the exploitation of Zapata's legacy while pledging his eternal allegiance.
Just like "El Columpio", the video was directed by Tudor Stanley, produced by Los Cenzontles and filmed in the recording studio Ninth Street Opus in Berkeley (California) where the album 'Alma Campirana' was also recorded.
Through research, performance, media production and collaborations, the group has played a leading role in the roots revival in the US and Mexico since 1989.
Los Cenzontles' musical and cultural trajectory has earned them the respect and support of an impressive array of renowned artists including David Hidalgo (Los Lobos), Jackson Browne, Linda Ronstadt, Los Tigres del Norte, Ry Cooder, The Chieftains, Taj Mahal, and Saul Hernandez (Jaguares/Caifanes). To date Los Cenzontles has released 23 albums, three full-length documentaries and hundreds of videos.
