Best of NFMLA Awards - 2018 nominates Nitzia Chama in the Best Performance, Drama category for her role as Isadora in "Neemkomok’"
NewFilmmakers Los Angeles announced that it has nominated Nitzia Chama in the Best Performance, Drama category for this year’s Best of NFMLA Awards for her portrayal as Isadora in the short film "Neemkomok’" (She Returns), directed/written by Douglas Cushnie.
The film was produced as an AFI short film thesis and has received honors with its dramatic and historical view into the life of Isadora, an Indigenous Californian (Gabrielino/Tongva) woman, as she battles to survive after being emancipated from the abusive Los Angeles mission where she was raised in the early 1800's.
Chama is well known for her role in ABC’s American Crime as Itzel and host on Univision’s number one rated morning show Despierta America (Los Angeles segment).

This is her first nomination for a NewFilmmaker award and first nomination as a lead actress.
