The Premiere Episode Outperformed Univision’s “La Piloto” at 10 p.m. by double-digits among key demos

The Super Series™, Starring Carolina Miranda, David Chocarro, Michel Duval, Ana Lucía Domínguez, Oscar Priego, Aurora Gil, Mauricio Islas, and Crossover Talent Paulina Gaitán (“The River,” “Trade”) and William Miller (“The 100,” “The Midnight Man”), was the #1 Most Social Drama Series Among Hispanic Networks in Primetime on Premiere Night

Telemundo finished as the #1 Spanish-language broadcast network in prime time fueled by the premiere of “Señora Acero” (Woman of Steel) among total viewers, adults 18-49 & adults 18-34, outperforming the combined delivery of Univision and Unimas by 4% among adults 18-49 on Oct. 17, according to Nielsen. 

Produced by Telemundo Global Studios in association with Argos, the fifth season of the hit franchise averaged 1,393,000 total viewers, 724,000 adults 18-49 and 309,000 adults 18-34, outperforming Univision’s “La Piloto” by +18%, 40% and +34%, respectively. 

Starring Carolina Miranda, David Chocarro, Michel Duval, Ana Lucía Domínguez, Oscar Priego, Aurora Gil, Mauricio Islas, Paulina Gaitán and William Miller, The Super Series™ was the #1 most social drama series among Hispanic networks in primetime on Oct. 17.

Locally, Telemundo ranked as the #1 broadcast network at 10 p.m. regardless of language in Los Angeles and Miami among adults 18-49, #1 Spanish-language network at 10 p.m. in Houston, Chicago, San Francisco, Philadelphia, Washington, Tampa and Boston among total viewers and adults 18-49, and #1 among adults 18-49 in New York, Phoenix, Sacramento, Orlando, Denver and Atlanta, on “Señora Acero” premiere night.

The fast-paced and action-packed production returns with a fresh new plot that picks up the story six years later with the reappearance of “El Teca,” (Miller) an infamous enemy from the past eager for vengeance against the Acero Quintanilla dynasty. 

This new chapter of the story will showcase a transformed Vicenta Acero (Miranda), with her most difficult job to-date, to protect her son against this ruthless quest for revenge unleashed from the very start of the season.

An original story by Roberto Stopello, season five of “Señora Acero” was written by Indira Páez and directed by Alfonso Pineda, Rigoberto Castañeda and Rafael Lara, with Mariana Iskandarani (“El Señor de los Cielos,” “Enemigo Íntimo”) as executive producer.
