"Sunny Daze" will have its World Premiere at 7:15 p.m. on June 21 at Dances With Films at the TCL Chinese 6 Theatres, 3r Floor, Hollywood & Highland.

The film will then have its New York Premiere at the SOHO International Film Festival 7:30 p.m. June 23 at Village East Cinema.

"Sunny Daze" was produced by Jason Wiles and Stephen Peace under their newly formed production company, Film Shop Entertainment.

The filmmakers debuted the festival trailer and poster on June 6.
"When Jason and I formed Film Shop Entertainment, our goal was to tell thought-provoking stories that are conversation starters, to get the dialogue going, while they entertain the audience. Our 30 years of friendship and life experience has helped us immensely in telling the story in our first film, 'Sunny Daze.' The Process of making this film has been life altering. From concept to premiere has been a dream come true; I am so excited to be a part of Dances With Films and premiere 'Sunny Daze' at the iconic Chinese Theatres," Peace said.
Sunny Daze stars Jason Wiles (Third Watch, S.W.A.T., Zodiac), Lonnie Chavis (Oscar-winning short film Skin, This Is Us), Michael Beach (Animal Kingdom, The 100, Aquaman), Amy Carlson(Blue Bloods, Third Watch), Jamie McShane (The Passage, Bloodline, Gone Girl), Ryan Merriman(Final Destination 3, Pretty Little Liars), and Stephen Peace (In the Rough).

The dramatic film, written and directed by Wiles, follows the life-altering friendship formed when Sunny (Wiles) and 11-year-old Sean (Chavis), grow a strong bond as they grieve over the passing of Sean's father Mickey (Beach), who was Sunny's best friend.

The film also stars Jesse Margolis, Asenneth Del Toro, Austin Channing Wiles, Carolyn Michelle Smith (Colony, House of Cards), Scot Ruggles, Lulu Bee, Richard Rose, Yaping, and Nathan Ballard.
"We are extremely excited about the 'Sunny Daze' World Premiere in Los Angeles at Dances With Films, which is a festival that focuses filmmakers and truly independent films and have discovered many groundbreaking films and helped the filmmakers get their films out to audiences through the festival, with many getting distribution deals," Wiles said.
"'Sunny Daze' will have its New York Premiere at the SOHO International Festival, which gives love and exposure to real independent films and filmmakers. It is important for passionate independent filmmakers to have the support of these two fantastic film festivals. DWF and SOHO are great showcases for new independent films," Wiles said.
In Sunny Daze, Sunny Chase had it all: a notable music career, a loving family, and many friends who were always there for him.

But, after a decade on the road chasing what was once a dream, the absence from his family resulted in a failed marriage.

Longing for something more, a burnt out Sunny decides to take a break and raise his kids.

Now, after years of not performing and not making any money, his functioning alcohol and drug use is causing his life to unravel at a dangerous pace.

To top it off, Sunny is haunted by the recent death of his best friend, Mickey.

With his life at a standstill, his current wife and young daughter having just left him, Sunny is at his breaking point.

His self-medication is escalating, and his family and friends tell him something needs to change.

But it is through Mickey's son, Sean, that Sunny gains the strength to try to get clear of his demons and move forward in rebuilding his life.
"You write about things you know things you've experienced ...things you've seen your friends experience ....your family , loved ones- you write about things you've been affected by. I'm interested in behavior. I'm interested in telling stories about the struggles one has.... and knowing there is always a light at the end of the tunnel," Wiles said.
Producing with Wiles and Peace are Producers Michael O'Shea Jr., Mandy June Turpin, and Igor Kosenko; Executive Producers Susan Noah Hensel, Jennifer L. Pearlman, Elle Saling, Clive Tharby, Michael Weiss, and Baker Wiles; Co-producer Jason Koiter; and Associate Producer David Roberson.

"The collaboration on 'Sunny Daze' was like capturing lightning in a bottle. It doesn't happen very often, but when it does, it's pretty special. For us, we believe that happened," Wiles said.
