Jesus Figueroa, @Thisfunktional of ThisFunktional.com, talks with filmmaker Lynn Rosen and actor Chad Kessler about season 2 pilot for GASBAG, to have its west coast premiere at Dances with Films' Pilots Block 6 on June 28 at 3:30pm at the TCL Chinese 6 Theatres. GASBAG, the comedic coming-of-age series from creator/writer/executive producer Lynn Rosen, has the West Coast Premiere of its pilot at TCL Chinese Theatre on Saturday, June 28 at Dances With Films: LA (DWF 28). This follows the film’s hometown screening at Dances With Films NY in December, one of very few projects screened at both festivals. Featuring a cast and crew from the New York City theatre scene, Gasbag follows George Nordstrom (Chad Kessler), a lovable overtalker who is discovering what he really wants and who he really is…at age 42. His overbearing mother, meddling neighbor, and dysfunctional coworkers at The Marcia Powell Travel Agency sure don’t make it easy, but thanks to his can-do spirit, some loving shoves from his brash cousin Jean, and the liberating realization that he’s gay, George is learning to love silence. He may even learn to love himself. GASBAG started life as a pandemic-era webseries, which inspired the creators to produce the TV pilot, which builds on the action and characters in the webseries. They have also already started working on new episodes of Gasbag to distribute in the future.
