Film Festival at Hollywood Park, Los Angeles newest premiere film event, announced today its call for entries for films of all genres for its inaugural edition at Cinepolis Luxury Cinemas, Oct. 6-12.
Located in the heart of Inglewood just 3 miles from LAX, Hollywood Park is the largest entertainment complex in the western U.S. Audiences already know it from the world-class sports and music events at the various landmark venues on the 300-acre sprawling campus, including SoFi Stadium, and YouTube Theater. The arrival of the film festival will bring a world-class film festival to Hollywood Park for the first time ever.
The festival’s nonprofit organizers have two decades-plus of experience in producing film festivals in Los Angeles, including the celebrated Silver Lake Film Festival (2000 to 2008) and DTLA Film Festival (2008 to 2023). Like its predecessors, Film Festival at Hollywood Park will present a broad range of independent and foreign films with an emphasis on diversity.
“We’re thrilled that our organization has been selected to host Hollywood Park’s first film festival. Film Festival at Hollywood Park is confirmation that the independent film industry is alive and thriving in Los Angeles and beyond,” says festival co-founder Henry Priest.
In addition to the 5-day film festival in the fall, organizers plan to initiate a monthly screening series at Cinepolis beginning this spring. “The new screening series will reflect our ethos of highlighting the best in emerging film talent as well as paying homage to innovators of the past,” says Carolyn Schroeder, director of programming. Details of the screening series will be announced soon.
Festival organizers are already looking farther into the future with a special sports-centric edition of the festival to coincide with Hollywood Park playing host to the 2028 Summer Olympics in July. “Our festival is committed to exploring the future of cinema while remaining committed to a tradition of fearless innovation and diversity in programming,” says co-founder and festival director Greg Ptacek.
Film Festival at Hollywood Park is proudly sponsored by Cinepolis Luxury Cinemas and Hollywood Park.
