Universal Studios Hollywood Halloween Horror Nights premiered Sept. 18 with many celebrities coming to the red carpet.
Among the celebrities were John Murdy, the creative Director of HHN, music artist Travis Barker, Barry Bostwick, of Tales of Halloween and "Rocky Horror Picture show," Jamie Kennedy, of "Tremors," Lin Shaye and Leigh Whannell, of "Insidious: Chapter 3."
The top 3 Halloween mazes this year were Halloween: Michael Meyers returns home.
It is the best maze in a while.
There is scare-after-scare with Michael Meyers around every corner.
The maze is a good size and those who attend will be able to walk through and experience bits and pieces of the entire Halloween series.
Halloween: Michael Myeres returns home is the best maze experience.
The Walking Dead: Wolves not too far" is a longer Walking Dead experience than the prior years.
It is darker and looks fantastic, it's different from years past.
To be able to walk through Terminus is just incredible.
The walkers do a great job of being unexpected and popping out at the right moment to scare attendees.
This is the end 3D is a unique maze which is funny, creepy, trippy and contains many elements from the film.
With cameos from many of the cast of the film on projected screens, attendees can live a short walk through the film.
The 3D element was used well as characters walk towards attendees.
Only part which was not good was when several of the creatures of the maze overstepped their roles and actually touched or grabbed me.
The Terror Tram was a new route from year prior.
The Purge fits well and serves the already constructed elements in the Universal lot.
It is creative and terrifying with purge advocates starting the experience from the moment attendees are walking down the stairs to get onto the tram.
The terror starts on the tram with a small surprise.
A dance show by the Jabbawockeez is sure to thrill many attendees as it is not very frightening, but it is very entertaining.
The story of the dance show is set inside the nightmare of one of the dancers.
The dance show is incredible and the music made many of the audience members dance in their seats.
The audience cheered when "California Love" by Tupac started. Many well known songs are part of the show.
The show is about thirty minutes long and there's several showtimes.
It's definitely worth the time to go watch the show.

Insidious: Return to the further was a good themed maze which had many creatures from the film pop out at attendees.
The maze is a short one and it is much like stepping into the film world of the further.
It's a dark maze which has dark creatures pop out and try to scare attendees.
It's not the most exciting maze, but far from the least exciting.
Crimson Peak: Maze of Madness, based on the upcoming Guillermo Del Toro film, is stunning.
The scenery is just beautiful, but as for being scary, it's just not.
It is disorienting at moments and there seems to be few scares.
The maze seems long, but not much happens when walking through it.
The Purge scare zone leading up to Crimson Peak was more frightening than the maze.
Crimson Peak reminded me of last year's Dracula Untold maze, which didn't have many scares probably because they didn't want to give much of the film away.
Alien vs. Predator felt like the same maze as the last time avp was a maze.
There was nothing new, not many scares and just seemed to rely on the creatures being large.
Since there has not been a new AVP movie there probably isn't many things the designers of the maze can base scares on.
The horror quiz outside the AVP maze was scarier than walking the maze and the line for regular passes would have scared anyone more than the maze.
Some of the great parts of HHN was the scare zones on the streets of Universal.
Many people ran from some of the terrifying creatures which lurk in the darkened streets.
Exterminatorz at the park entrance chase scares attendees with chainsaws, impaled figures are on the street and creatures lurk waiting to scare.
Dark Christmas is foggy and eerie with fantastical creatures on the streets. An extremely dark take on Christmas brings even the blood thirsty yeti to the streets of Universal.
Corpz is just what it sounds like, the streets are just frightening with the creatures that lurk in that section of the park.
There are also several of the normal rides available to ride after dark.
Transformers: The Ride 3D, Revenge of the Mummy: The Ride, Jurassic Park in the dark, The
Simpsons ride and Ride it now: Despicable Me Minion Mayhem are all available to ride.
For those that want to do it all in one day a front-of-the-line pass is very useful and probably the only way to do all mazes and rides in one night.
Halloween Horror Nights is fun that going a second day is not a bad idea.
